“The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with
joy.”
Psalm 126:3
We would love to hear the great things the Lord has done for you through this year’s conference. If you would like to share your story, please email us at yourstories@himonline.org. Pictures are also a great way to share your experiences at the conference. Email us your pics to have them posted on our site (and don’t forget captions!)
Read below how the Lord has used the conference to shape and impact the lives of these individuals...
Mary Husemann, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota
I was visiting a friend on Maui and he suggested that we fly over
to HNL to attend this conference. He is an active member and was
a youth minister of Hope Chapel on Maui. We started praying all
week asking God to lead us if this was to happen. My friend wanted
me to experience the conference since he had attended them in the
past. I had just lost my job January 29th and I was concerned about
the cost of the conference. We had decided to fly over and let
God lead us. I was still hesitant about the cost, so on the way
over we decided we would pick and choose just a few of the general
sessions and classes. We were discussing this when we walked up
to the booth and told the person at the booth what we were trying
to decide. She held up a ticket and said this must be for you.
The person in front of me heard God telling her that she needed
to pay for another ticket and give it to the next person in line.
I was that next person. My mouth dropped and my friend said I looked
like I was in shock. I have always believed in God but just in
the last few years have renewed my faith and am bringing Him closer
to me. We attended the whole conference and even purchased tickets
to the David Crowder Band concert.
My experience at this conference was enlightening and amazing. I could just feel the presence of God. I have learned that everything comes from God and if we love Him with our whole heart, soul and mind that HE will be there for us. I also learned I should trust God and He will be there to provide. I am back on the mainland and looking for another job but have been praying that God leads me in the path He wants me to take. Thank you for putting this conference on.. I am hoping someday I can pay it forward to another person less fortunate.
Pastor Hotch Kekoa, Honolulu, HI
What a joy it is for me to have been involved in Him 2010 with many of my 'Angel'
friends that we have accrued our friendship all these past years. My life
and ministry to others has been enriched by what I have experienced personally
through the contacts of Hawaiian Islands Ministries.
There are times when you never know what influence you have had upon the conferees
as you labor among them but when the closing time occurs and to have many comments
given as to, "Thank You, for being an Angel," "God bless you and
see you next year," "Thank you so much for your inspiration and presence," "We
appreciate your contribution to the success of HIM conference," "You
have been a blessing to me every-time I see you at the start of the General Sessions.
I thank the Lord for the opportunity to share God's love with so many conferees
and to work alongside those responsible to see that the job gets down. Mahalo
for providing the hotel, parking, shirts, CD's and meals. Thank you for the opportunity
to work with Robin, Jenny, Jan, Mary, Dan, Pam, and the list goes on and
on of the many whose lives have touched mine. Thanks be to the Lord Jesus Christ,
the Author and Finisher of our faith.
It was a personal joy to see our son, Senior Chaplain, Kahu Kordell Kekoa of
Kamehameha Schools, Kapalama Heights and his colleagues, Chaplain, Kahu Kalani
Wong of Kamehameha Schools Maui , and Chaplain, Kahu Wendell Davis, of South
Kona, Hawaii. They did a good job and may Jesus continue to shine through their
faith and culture and ministry.
Mahalo to Hawaiian Island Ministeries for the opportunity to serving Jesus in
the capacity of "Angel." I remain His to "Shine for Jesus."

I attended John Jenkins' talk about what husbands wish their wives knew.
I have never heard this message presented in such a way that it
made so much sense of the man's point of view! To be honest, as a woman
I had simply just never seen it the way he described it, and
maybe it was all the yelling that made it sink in. He was so funny too. Having
the insights from that talk handy has made an unbelievable
difference in the way I relate to and communicate with my husband. Thank you
and God for speaking to me through Pastor Jenkins.
