DAY ONE
Thursday, January 12, 2012 | 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Focus: Hawaii & the Local Church
Day One will take a fresh look at how we do ministry in our churches and communities using the REVEAL tool from Willow Creek Association and HIM’s “State of Faith in Hawaii” findings by the Barna Group. We will address three areas:
1. Evangelism – reaching not-yet believers
2. Discipleship – turning believers into disciples
3. Community Service – serving Hawaii’s communities
Presenters
Cally Parkinson, Director of REVEAL at Willow Creek Association
Every pastor wrestles with this question: Is our church really helping people become devoted followers of Christ, or are we just giving them a nice place to go to church? In 2004, leaders at Willow Creek Community Church asked themselves that question. Leaning into innovative research tools, they made some startling discoveries. For example, although some common church activities did fuel spiritual growth, they found that many did not. Cally will share these discoveries, including the four best practices for re-energizing spiritual momentum in the local church.

Dan Chun, Cofounder of Hawaiian Islands Ministries
Dan will review the “State of Faith in Hawaii” study commissioned by HIM — the first benchmark report in the history of Hawaii that looks at the beliefs, practices, and habits of Hawaii’s churched, unchurched, and “de-churched.” Critical time will then be spent weighing the findings against how Hawaii churches currently do ministry. We’ll then strategize together about how we as local churches can better serve our congregations and community.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 13
Friday, January 13, 2012 | 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Special Logos Bible Software Training –
