Prayer and Spiritual Warfare | Don Cousins
There’s a war going on, and you are the one being fought over. What makes this war unique is the fact that you play a key role in determining who wins. In Ephesians 6:12, the Apostle Paul writes….”For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” This is a spiritual battle. To the winner goes your life and eternity. And the difference between winning and losing is literally the difference between heaven and hell. In our time together, we are going to consider the matters of spiritual warfare. What exactly is this war I’m in? Who’s fighting over me and what power do they possess? If I truly have an enemy, is there a way of knowing what his strategy is? How can I defend myself? Spiritual warfare is real. God provides us with everything we need in order to insure victory for ourselves. By the end of the day, you will have the understanding and the tools you need to win the war.
Give God a Year, Change Your Life Forever | Carole Lewis
In a culture of “right now,” a year may seem like an eternity. A year in the hands of God, however, means change that will last eternally. The right changes only happen when we set the right goals and take the right steps to achieve them. Do you want to find balance in your life? Are you desperate to lose weight and keep it off forever? Do you want to live stronger and healthier? Come join Carole as she invites you to dream big about the changes you long for in your life. Meet Joyce Ainsworth who lost 192 pounds and has kept it off. With warmth and humor, Carole will offer practical, biblical, step-by-step guidance for how to see your dreams made into reality.
A Children’s Ministry That Thrives
Karen Makishima & Denee Hamilton
Karen Makishima and Denee Hamilton both feel honored to be chosen to serve God’s children and their families. They recognize the importance of building a strong spiritual foundation when a child is young and know that this shaping will have life long implications not only for the child but for the world. Knowing that the family is the primary influence of a child (birth to 12 years old) they strive to build their children’s ministry team to partner with families in their children’s spiritual development. During this seminar you will hear about their continued journey of building and refining the infrastructure needed to support a children’s ministry that not only wants to survive but desires to thrive. This seminar will include discussions and interactive experiences on the following topics:
• Setting the course by determining long and short term planning.
• Recruiting, training and retaining those who have a passion for God and His children for the long haul.
Pastors Session:
Emotionally Healthy Leadership | Peter Scazzero
This practical seminar will take the next steps of implementing the discipleship paradigm laid out in Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (Nelson, 2006) and The Emotionally Healthy Church: Expanded and Revised (Zondervan 2010) into the life of the leader, his/her family and the leadership of the local church. We will explore how to build a church culture, beginning with the pastors themselves that integrates practical tools and skills where spiritual maturity and emotional health truly are considered inseparable and where our work for Jesus flows out of a life with Jesus.
Pastors Spouses Session:
I QUIT – Spiritual Formation Practices for Transformation
Geri Scazzero
Geri’s journey into a profound transformation in her spiritual life began when she finally said, “I quit.” Refusing to continue pretending everything was fine, she embarked on a powerful journey to quit the things that really don’t belong to Jesus’ kingdom and embrace the things that do. Over the next fifteen years, this revolutionized her personal life, marriage and church.
The purpose of this seminar is to equip you to take the next steps to launch into a powerfully transformed life as laid out in I Quit: Stop Pretending Everything is Fine and Change Your Life (Zondervan, 2010). This session will integrate practical skills to help you walk out a relationship of integrity with God, yourself and others. The goal is to slow you down for a fresh encounter with the living Jesus out of which you might embrace your unique, God-given life and freely love and serve others
