DENISE BILODEAU, MSW, NHA

Hawaii Kai Assisted Living

Denise Bilodeau is currently the Assisted Living Administrator for Hawai‘i Kai Retirement and Assisted Living.  She has a BA and MSW from UC Berkeley, with a concentration in Gerontology and Direct Practice with Families, Individuals and Groups.  Previously a technology business operator and owner, Denise has worked as a clinical social worker in an acute rehab hospital, acute care hospital, gero-psychiatric units, nursing homes and dementia special care programs.  Since coming to Hawai‘i, Denise been a licensed nursing home administrator and long term care consultant assisting with facility regulatory compliance and licensing.

 

BONNIE CASTONGUAY, RN

Bonnie is a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawai‘i with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare. She is a Certified Care Manager by the National Association of Certified Care Managers and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality by the National Association for Healthcare Quality. Bonnie is Co-Founder, of Ho‘okele Personal Health Planners, LLC and is passionate about improving the state of quality patient care for the people of Hawai‘i by helping and teaching individuals how to advocate for themselves.

Bonnie is widely respected in the healthcare community as a knowledgeable expert in patient safety, hospital quality and case management, and quality performance improvement. She has been very active in the quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in the community. She has co-authored articles and presented quality projects at both local and national conferences. She is also active in local quality associations and has served on the executive board in various capacities. She is the currently the President of the Hawaii Association of Case Managers. Bonnie is also an active charter and Board member of the Kahala Sunrise Rotary Club.

 

LESLIE KOBATA

Born and raised on Oahu, Les is a graduate of the University of Hawai‘i and has worked in sales and management with the telecommunications, technology and HR outsourcing industry for 25+ years working both local and international assignments.  Prior to Ho‘okele, Les was a Senior VP for Coldwell Banker Pacific Property, Hawaii’s largest real estate company and responsible for their Training and Development Division.  As the Business Development Director for Ho‘okele since 2009, Les has been responsible for working closely with the Co-Founders of the company to develop and execute a formal sales and marketing program for their Navigation and Home Care services as well as their innovative, senior living technology called “iHealthHome”. Les is also active with his alma mater, serving as committee chair for the Kaimuki High School Foundation.

 

MICHAEL W.K. YEE, CFP, CFS, CRPC

Having become a Certified Fund Specialist in 1995 and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor in 2003, Michael has had over 15 years of experience in financial planning. Currently, Michael is a Financial Advisor at Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. His areas of focus are personal financial planning for retirement, estate planning strategies, small businesses, investments, tax management strategies, protection planning/family security and education funding.

Michael is currently the assistant scout master for a local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America and is active with the Hawaii Kai Lion’s Club. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, and two children.

 

STEPHEN B. YIM, J.D., LL.M (TAXATION)
Attorney at Law

Stephen B. Yim is a sole practitioner concentrating in the areas of estate planning, wills, trusts, supplemental needs planning for families who have children with disabilities, charitable tax planning, estate and gift tax planning, and estate administration.

He provides presentations and articles related to estate planning and estate and gift taxation to various groups such as the Hawaii Bar Association – Estate & Gift Tax Section, Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants, Enrolled Agents, Hawaii Society of Public Accountants, The Maui Estate Planning Council, and the Oahu Estate Planning Council.

He is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association, the estate planning probate section of the Hawaii Bar Association, the elder law section of the Hawaii Bar Association, the Academy of Special Needs Planners and the National Academy of Elder Lax Attorneys.
