We are more connected than ever—Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, you name it! We are good at posting about our life, but get distracted by who will see it, like it, retweet it, unfollow us, or worst of all, not even care. If we aren’t careful, we might be tempted to think God responds to us in the same way. But His desire is to meet us face to face.

Brandon Ahu • Sitting with the Cool Kids: Standing for Jesus When No One Else Will (Deeper)
Do you ever notice that we tend to group people into certain categories at school? Whether they are nerds, jocks, band geeks, orch dorks, gamers, stoners, surfers, or anything else, it seems like everyone is trying to fit in — somewhere. Fitting in and having friends is fine in some ways, but the God of the Bible is often calling his followers to dare to be different in the things that matter most. Peer pressure is a strong force that often influences us toward temptation and away from God. This session will help us to see how we can stand for Jesus when it feels easier to sit with everyone else.
