Dr. Chris Elisara

Chris is a visionary educator, social entrepreneur, and filmmaker. He is founder of the World Evangelical Alliance’s Sustainability Center in Bonn, Germany, as well as the Center for Environmental Leadership. He serves as Studio Lead for Placemaking at Duke Divinity School’s Ormond Center, where he champions urban design that makes places better for all people. He and his wife Tricia are founders of the Creation Care Study Program (CCSP), a Christian study abroad program which educates students towards better understanding of and caring for creation. CCSP is currently approved by more than 25 Christian colleges and universities in the US and Canada with CCSP campuses in New Zealand and Belize.

Chris is a native New Zealander with Polynesian ancestry. He earned a B.A. from the University of Auckland, an M.B.A. from Eastern University, and a Ph.D. in cross-cultural education from Biola University. He lives in San Diego with his wife, Tricia, and two sons who keep him fishing, backpacking, playing music, and riding his mountain bike.
