We're moving!
Dear Friend,
That’s right. The HIM office will be getting a new address after more than 20 years in the same location!
Moving won’t be easy and will comes with major costs. However, we believe this is a move that will benefit everyone HIM serves in significant ways.
WHY is HIM moving? Couldn’t HIM just stay in its current space? Simply: rent and location. Rent at the new office will be 50% of what we pay now. Lower rent will reduce overhead, releasing more resources for ministry programs. The new office location will also be easier to get to and closer to many churches.
WHERE is HIM moving? 547 Halekauwila Street in historic Kaka‘akoHIM is moving to downtown Honolulu, in walking distance to Kawaiaha‘o Church, ‘Iolani Palace and Restaurant Row. Although surrounded by new high rises, retail and restaurants, HIM's new home will be on the second floor of a 50 year old building needing significant renovation. We’re praying that HIM’s presence will help release spiritual revival and God’s Holy Spirit in this burgeoning area.
WHEN is HIM moving?As soon as we can – but that will take time. We have a signed lease and are waiting for the landlord to remediate building issues so that we can start demo and construction.The space needs A LOT of work. The plan is to move after the HIM 2019 conference in late March 2019.
WHAT does HIM need help with?
We need your help to raise $115,000 to pay for the project by the end of this year. This is money we need to raise outside of conference registration, as those fees go directly to cover speakers, facilities and program expenses. We believe the move practices good stewardship, increases HIM’s accessibility, strengthens our ability to serve the Body of Christ, and positions HIM for more ministry opportunities
