Soul Care for Church Leaders

Is the life we are offering others in Christ the life we are leading?

The person of the leader is the key. As ministry leaders, we need to balance serving others with soul care for ourselves. The health of a church starts with the health of its leader.

We welcome leaders and/or leader spouses to learn about 5 Soul Care Strategies which have the most impact: The Reservoir, Transference, Serving vs Pleasing, Being a Whole Person, Your Caring Community.

If you are concerned about your ministry, this session is for you. If you are concerned about your life outside of ministry, this session is for you.

Finding God & Growth in Pain

Transforming your life when willpower isn’t enough

During this evening for everyone, John and Rick will answer the difficult question of “What do we do when we know something needs to change but we can’t do it on our own?” Practical tools will include those from John’s new book Steps (available Feb 4, 2025) such as how to:

  • Distinguish when willpower is essential and when it is futile

  • Discover our spiritual attachment styles

  • Learn how to identify core doubts

  • Experience new freedom no matter our circumstances.

Speaking

Rick has been a clinical psychologist in private practice for forty years, working with church leaders, pastors, families, couple, and individual adults. Rick and John have been colleagues and close friends for more than 40 years.

Rick Blackmon

Pastor, author, and speaker, John’s ministry for more than 40 years has centered around spiritual formation. John deeply believes that the main thing God gets out of your life is the person you become and desires for people to know God in an interactive, life-transforming way. He presently leads the ministry, Become New, focused on helping you grow spiritually one day at a time.
