HIM Webinar FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions Answered Here

Questions about registering

Is there a deadline to register? Nope. You may register any time before or during a webinar.

Can I register a group? We are sorry. There are no group registrations or group discounts. Each person must register separately in order to receive a unique login. This safekeeps everyone’s information and allows for personal, confidential and safe participation. HIM values your privacy. Unique logins also insure that our online sessions are protected from internet spammers, scammers and slammers.

Do spouses sharing a screen have to register separately ? No. If you are a couple sharing one screen, only one of you needs to register. However, if you prefer to use separate devices, each of you will need to register and login separately.

Can I register on behalf of someone else? Yes, but you will need the required information to complete the registration. You also cannot reuse an email address already used to registered for the same event.

If I am attending with a small group, does each person have to register? We would appreciate that, even if you are using one screen.

Will I get a confirmation email?  Yes. This is important. Please look for your confirmation email as it will contain your unique login to access the webinar. You will also receive reminder emails with your unique login a week, a day and an hour before the webinar start.

What if I can’t find my confirmation email? Check your email including your Spam folder. If you don’t find it, you may have not have completed registering and should register again. If you still can’t find it, email info@himonline.org.

General questions

Will the webinar be recorded for viewing later?   Yes, as long as we have permission from the webinar presenter. All registrants will have the ability to rewatch the webinar as a recorded video for a limited time.

If I’m not able to attend the webinar, can I watch the video later? Everyone registered for the webinar will have access to the video whether or not you actually attend. If you cannot attend the live webinar, you will need to register so can see it later.

Will there be handouts?  If handouts are provided by our webinar presenter, we will email you a link to download handouts as PDFs following the event.

Joining & logging into the webinar

How do I join the webinar? In your confirmation email, look for the “Click Here to Join” link. One click and you’re in! We’ll include this link in reminders emailed one week, one day and one hour ahead of time.

Can someone else use my login link? No. Each device requires a unique link. The same link cannot be used by two devices at the same time. If you plan to attend with a spouse and share a screen, however, you only need the login link from a single registration.

Do I need a special device? Any computer, tablet or smartphone with a working internet connection should work. We advise you download any required software or apps ahead of time to make sure everything works and that you can connect.

Can someone join a webinar after it’s started? Yes. You and your friends can join at any time, even mid-stream. Your personal login will be automatically generated and sent immediately to your provided email address.

What if I have trouble logging in or have technical difficulties (can’t hear or see)? Check that your internet connection is working. If one device is not working, try a different one. Most technical difficulties in webinars are due to a poor internet signal. To optimize your experience, situate yourself where you have a good internet connection.

Can I get help during the webinar? During the webinar, we won’t be able to answer emails or phone calls but will attend to them later.

During the webinar…

Will you be able to see or hear me?  No, only presenters will be seen and heard.

How do I ask a question during the webinar?  Click on the “Q&A” button on your screen. Submit your question in the pop-up window.

Will I be able to live chat with the presenters and others during the webinar?  No. HIM disables the chat function for attendee, but we may use it at times to broadcast information to all participants.

Can I pause the webinar and return to it later? No. The webinars are live and cannot be paused.

Will there be breaks during the webinar? No. We do not schedule in breaks, although we may have a “get-up-and-stretch.” Feel free to take a break when you need to.
