Why JSU Book Clubs?
Most of us want to read good literature - books that inspire, encourage and energize us. Reading, we not only learn new things, we expand our horizons and ignite our imaginations.
But putting time aside to read and learn is challenging. We pick up a book well-meaningly, only to fall asleep; or we keep putting it off for “when I have more time.”
Reading is not a matter of energy, priority or time. It’s a question of strategy.
JSU’s strategy is simple. Participants simply show up at the appointed time and place and listen together while following along a text. There’s no homework, no official interpretations, no right or wrong answers. A short period at the end offers time for reflection and brief discussion. That’s it!
