FAQs – 2020 Mental Health Webinar

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about registering

How much is it? It’s FREE! This webinar is a gift from us to you as we make a way through the global pandemic.

Is there a deadline to register? Nope. You may register any time before or during the webinar conference.

Can I register a group? No, each person registers as an individual and gets a unique log in link to join the webinar.

Can I register on behalf of someone else? Yes, but you will need certain information to complete the registration.

Will I get a confirmation email?  Yes. This is important because it will have your unique login link for the webinar. We will also resend your unique link in reminder emails, including an email 1 hour before the start of each session.

What if I can’t find my confirmation email? Check your email including your Spam folder. If you don’t find it, you may have not have completed registering and should register again. If you still can’t find it, email help@himonline.org.

General questions

Do I need to attend all three days or may I attend just one session? You may attend 1, 2 or all 3 days. You will get the most benefit, however, if you attend all three.

Is the webinar live or recorded? Parts of the webinar are prerecorded and other parts will be live. We’re doing this to serve you with the best audio & video experience we can — and to work around Dr. Stanford’s 5-hr time difference. All Q&A sessions will be live and answered real-time. We hope to get to as many questions as we can.

If I miss a talk, can I watch it later?   The webinar will be available later for on-demand viewing, but you will not be able to participate in the live Q&A..

Will there be handouts?  Yes. Registrants will get a link to download handouts as PDFs.

Will Dr. Stanford be back at HIM 2021 to give the same talks? Plans are for Matt to return in 2021 but will teach on different mental health topics. (Pending coronavirus and travel restrictions)

Joining & logging into the webinar

How do I join the webinar? Look for the “Click Here to Join” link in your confirmation email. One click and you’re logged in! We’ll include this link in reminders emailed one week, one day and one hour ahead of time.

Do I need a special device? Any computer, tablet or smartphone with a working internet connection should work. We advise you download the Zoom app ahead of time to make sure everything works.

Do I use the same link/login all three days? Yes. Use the same “Click Here to Join” link every time you sign in.

Can someone else use my login link? Each viewer needs their own login. The same login cannot be used by two people.

Can someone join the webinar at any time? Yes. You and your friends can join at any time, even mid-stream. If you don’t have a login, register here to be sent one immediately.

Help! I’ve never used Zoom before and never attended a webinar! Zoom has a number of great tutorials for logging in! Check this out:

• How to join a Zoom webinar [click]

What if I have trouble logging in or have technical difficulties (can’t hear or see)? Check that your internet connection is working. If one device is not working, try a different one. Unfortunately, HIM does not have resources to provide live technical support.

During the webinar…

Will you be able to see or hear me?  No, only the webinar presenters will be seen and heard.

How do I submit a question while watching?  Click on the “Q&A” button at the bottom of your Zoom screen. Submit your question in the pop-up window.

Will questions be seen by everyone?  All questions will be private and seen only by HIM. You can also submit questions anonymously.

Can I pause the webinar? No, this is a live webinar and cannot be paused.

Will there be breaks during each session? No. We may have a brief “stand up and stretch” but, otherwise, take a break as needed.

I feel anxious/suicidal right now. Where can I get help?

We are glad you are seeking help.
